We were last year on holiday on the beautiful island of Krk on the Croatian Middle see coast.
It is not a good idea to book a hotel or anything like that when you go to Krk. It is much easier to rent an apartment when you are there. We got a discount of approximately 50% by renting down there instead of renting it from home.
The island is very beautiful and friendly to tourists and it is still very cheap. The water is clean and you want to bath there not like the Italian coast where the water is so dirty that you don’t want to go in.
We were situated nearby the old village of Krk. It is a beautiful town with walls all around it and a lot of places where you can buy everything. There is also a lot of restaurants where you can eat at a reasonably price.
I will send my best recommendation to you and promise you  that if you go to Krk you want regret it.
